The Safest Vehicles for 2018
Invest in Your Family’s Safety
We all want to make sure that our families are safe. So we go out of our way to ensure that we have the safest products, and we don’t take unnecessary risks.
Every year the IIHS comes out with their list of the safest vehicles for the upcoming year. For 2018 there are 15 vehicles on the list. From small cars to SUV’s to luxury automobiles, there is something for every family size and every budget on this list.
Safest Small Cars
Kia and Subaru rule the pack on this one. Both manufacturers have two vehicles in the category pushing out other makes and models.
- Kia Forte (sedan)
- Kia Soul
- Subaru Impreza
- Subaru WRX
If you’re after great gas mileage, and you don’t need a big vehicle, any one of these 4 have earned the top designations for safety in their class.
Safest Midsize Cars
Once again Subaru comes through with making great vehicles that provide outstanding safety.
- Subaru Legacy
- Subaru Outback
- Toyota Camry
Toyota nudges out the competition with their Camry model. This model has been made for decades and has had a long time to be perfected.
Safest Large Luxury Cars
For those who want that classy edge, but are still interested in safety, there are quite a few options to choose from. For the higher end vehicles, safety is usually at the forefront, along with those leather seats and premium sound systems.
- BMW 5 Series
- Genesis G80
- Genesis G90
- Lincoln Continental
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Sedan)
There’s no need to sacrifice comfort for safety when you can have them both.
Safest Midsized SUV’s
For the growing family that needs a little more room, an SUV is the answer. Hyundai captured this class for safety.
- Hyundai Santa Fe
- Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
Hyundai has a long reputation of making sure they’re building great vehicles that don’t compromise on safety.
Safest Midsize Luxury SUV
Of course if you’re after premium, then you have options too. Just one vehicle fell into this class with Mercedes taking the title.
- Mercedes-Benz GLC
Other Vehicles are Incredibly Safe
This list isn’t the only safe vehicles, it’s just the safest of the safe. There are many other’s out there, including the majority of the popular models, that are phenomenally safe vehicles that will treat your family right.
Every now and then, especially when a new car breaks down, we hear, “They just don’t make them like they used to.” To which we respond, “That’s a good thing!” Every year vehicles get safer and safer. Part of that safety is seen as a bad thing when looked at through the wrong lens. Those old vehicles made of stiff metal may not have dented much when an accident happened. But the occupant was often badly injured. Now vehicles are made to crumple, lessening the impact on the occupant. The result: more damage with fewer injuries and deaths.
Would you rather be alive, or have a vehicle that didn’t get damaged in the accident?
