5 Traits to Adopt to be Successful
Success is Achieved; Not Given
It’s pretty safe to say that we all want to be successful. Our definitions of success will vary, but there isn’t a person out there that would say, “I would like to fail every time.” Whether success, to you, means loads of free time, loads of money, or loads of friends, there are some key personality traits that you need to integrate into your life.
Here at Big Sky Collision Center, we have narrowed it down to 5 key traits. This list is by no means exhaustive, but it’s a starting point. Get these ones down, and you’re well on your way to having the traits needed to be wildly successful.
Always Be Learning
Many people have this idea that learning stops after you finish your schooling. It’s not that they truly believe that, but when you’re done being “forced” to learn, some of us just turn off our desire to learn. But there are studies out there that show successful people never stop learning. This doesn’t mean that they’re sitting in on lectures, attending classes, or obtaining advanced degrees. What it means is that they’re reading books, figuring things out, and learning something new all the time.
Want to be successful? Learn something new every day.
Some people believe that being obsessed with an idea is unhealthy. But for those that are passionate about what they do, and they’re excited to grow, achieve, and be successful, that obsession is needed! Be obsessed with being successful. Don’t settle for average, that’s setting yourself up for failure. Instead, be obsessed about creating a better world; be obsessed about creating a better you; be obsessed about being the best at what you do.
Want to be successful? Get obsessed with success!
When asked the definition of courage, most people will say that it is the absence of fear. That’s only partially correct. Really, courage is being afraid, but taking action anyway. What is something that frightens you that you would like to do? For some it’s starting their own business. For others it’s buying a rental property. For still others it is getting up early and starting the day meditating, reading, or praying. Courage takes on many different forms; whatever is holding you back from success is likely something that needs to be faced with courage.
Want to be successful? Take small steps to discover big courage.
If you look around on social media today, you see a lot of negativity. People are upset by all sorts of things. A lot of what you don’t see is people being grateful. They don’t have gratitude about the good things, but instead focus on the negative. You can change your entire perspective, and experience success, by having gratitude. Be thankful, be grateful, focus on the good.
Want to be successful? Count your blessings every day and be grateful for the good in your life.
There are two types of people in this world. Those that complain about things that happen to them, and those that solve problems so things don’t happen to them. Which do you think are happier and experience more success? Some go beyond just solving the problems when they come up. Some seek out the problems in order to solve them before they are even problems to begin with! The difference between the unsuccessful, the mildly successful, and the ultra-successful is the approach to problem solving.
Want to be successful? Discover, and solve, problems.
